THE SUN may have been beating down in Limerick this Monday morning but the talk on everyone’s lips was Christmas with auditions for the Late Late Toy Show taking centre stage.
Young performers from all over Munster hoping for their moment of stardom descended on the Strand Hotel from early morning to perfect their every note and move before their big audition.
It wasn’t exactly the weather for it, but in keeping with Toy Show tradition presenter Ryan Tubridy donned a festive jumper for the occasion.
“I shed a tear, I shed a tear,” the popular presenter said to special guest, Limerick hurler Shane Dowling, of his team’s All-Ireland final success.
“We came down here yesterday and everywhere we go everyone is still talking about it..the impact crosses oceans and seas,” Ryan added of the victory after a 45-year wait.
Anna Doody from Newcastle West was one of those to audition.
“I got the morning off school to come here to audition. I sang Abba’s Dancing Queen,” smiled the fifth class student from Monagea National School.
Limerick was the first stop in this year’s The Late Late Toy Show audition tour.
