Hot for 2018: Limerick's Adare Manorhas made it on to the Condé Nast Traveller list
LIMERICK’S Adare Manor has made it on to the Condé Nast Traveller Hot List of new hotels for 2018.
It is the only hotel in Ireland to have won the accolade and just one of 102 from across the globe.
Adare Manor, the judges say, is a delicious mix of old and new.
While retaining an old-school aristocratic vie, Adare’s fanciful gargoyles, genuinely warm staff, grand and intimate spaces and super-comfortable rooms make it somewhere unique and unabashedly the Ireland of now,” they wrote.
Hundreds of new hotels around the globe, from West Africa to Miami, were visited “ by an army of the most discerning hotel sleuths” in the quest to come up with the Hot List.
“What stands out are the properties that combine old-school extravagance and service with just the right measure of modernity,” was this year’s judges verdict.
Each visiting judge was armed with a battery of questions, from the practical to the emotional and was asked to rate the hotel on all of these. Practical questions included: Is the wi-fi strong enough to download a movie? and What is the must-order on the room service menu?
But other questions went to vibe.
“Is there a lobby vibe? What celebrity can you imagine hanging out around the pool?”
Unfortunately, Condé Nast Traveller hasn’t supplied the answers to these and other questions.
Just take it from them: Adare Manor is hot.
