CONSTRUCTION of Lidl’s new multi-million euro investment scheme at the Childers Road in Limerick is under way after Mayor Stephen Keary turned the sod on the development.

Mayor Keary was joined by Bryan Quille, managing director, Monami, Stephen Nolan, construction manager, Conor Nagle, regional director, Lidl, Greg Short, Monami, Denis Baranouski, Lidl’s store manager and Eoin Cusack, property executive, Lidl.

The store at Childers Road was one of the first stores opened in Ireland way back on July 10, 2000.

The existing store is to be demolished and replaced with a new outlet.

It’s hoped the move will lead to ten new jobs in the city.
