THE DEADLINE to sign up for the massive Team Limerick Clean-up is rapidly approaching and Paul O'Connell and JP McManus have put out a call for final entries.
Groups interested in taking part in the Good Friday clean-up this year are being urged to sign up for TLC4 as soon as possible.
"Time is running out!! @Paul_OConnell and JP want you to sign up for #TLC4 before it's too late!," TLC_Limerick tweeted today ahead of the March 16 sign up deadline.
By the end of February, more than 9,000 volunteers had already signed up for the mammoth cleaning effort. Last year, 17,000 people took to the streets of the city and county to pick up litter.
The former Munster, Ireland and Lions rugby captain is the proud face of this year’s campaign.
Although similar clean-up campaigns may exist elsewhere, the rugby player said at the launch: “No-one is doing it as well as we are.”
Keeping Limerick litter-free is everybody's responsibility, according to Paul.
“It is our own job. It is nobody else’s job,” he said.
The event, backed by the JP McManus Foundation, is held in association with with Mr Binman and Limerick City and County Council and media partners, including the Limerick Leader.
The Team Limerick Clean Up 4 takes place on Good Friday, March 30. Interested parties can sign up to take part in TLC4 in their local area. See www.teamlimerickcleanup.ie.
