Regeneron employees mobilise for 'Day for Doing Good' in Limerick

REGNERON'S eighth annual “Day for Doing Good” was marked in Limerick and all over the world.

It is a global volunteerism initiative where employees unite to support local communities across the world where the company operates. 

In Limerick, home to Regeneron’s Industrial Operations and Product Supply (IOPS) site, this event marks a significant volunteer effort. 

Their goal is simple, “To extend Regeneron’s mission of improving lives beyond our everyday work and strengthen bonds with our communities”.

Key highlights in Limerick include an extensive environmental enhancement initiative, involving tasks such as weeding, gardening, planting and painting across a number of areas of the city. 

Support for nonprofits including a refurbishment of the Down Syndrome Limerick office space, featuring painting and renovation works to enhance the building and facilities. 

Engaging in mentorship conversations impacting over 500 students and STEM outreach in the community that will impact over 500 students.

Leonard Ss Schleifer, M.D, Ph.D., President and CEO, Regeneron said: “Regeneron’s commitment to positive social change comes to life during ‘Day for Doing Good’. This special day reflects our core philosophy of ‘doing well by doing good,’ when we invest thousands of hours of time to enhance the well-being of our communities and paving the way for a brighter, healthier future for all.”

Niall O’Leary, Senior Vice President and Site Lead, Regeneron Raheen said at Regeneron, their flagship volunteer programme, Day for Doing Good, reflects their core belief that “true leadership extends beyond business”. 

“By mobilising our teams to enhance our community and promote STEM outreach, we aim to exemplify corporate citizenship. This initiative enriches our surroundings and fosters a future where innovation and purpose converge, positively impacting the communities we serve,” said Mr O’Leary.

Globally, Regeneron is projecting an impressive turnout of over 7,000 Regeneron volunteers – more than half of their global workforce - participating across 13 countries for more than 450 in-person and virtual community service projects that impact more than 240 non-profit and community organisations.
