GARDAÍ are sharing a trick to locking your phone if stolen, after a thief targeted a woman on a Limerick city bus.

On September 27 at 4pm, a woman in her early 40s was traveling on a bus between Dooradoyle and the city centre.

“She recalls putting her phone into her jacket pocket while on the bus. The bus was busy and when she got off, she realised her phone was gone,” said Sergeant Ber Leetch of Henry St garda station.

Each phone has a 15-digit identification number. To find yours, you can dial in *#06# on your keypad.
