Court appearance in Limerick in relation to drugs and firearm seizure

A MAN who was arrested after a search operation in County Limerick on Tuesday morning, September 3 has been charged by gardaí. 

The man, who is in his 30's, is due to appear before Limerick District Court on Mulgrave Street this morning (Thursday, September 5) at 10.30am. 

Meanwhile, this follows on from a major search operation in the St Mary's Park area of the city yesterday (Wednesday), where three men, aged in their 20's, 30's and 40's were all arrested and have appeared before the courts.

That planned operation, which involved significant garda manpower, involved searches of four residences, along with large areas of open land. 

Quantities of suspected crack cocaine, cannabis and cash were also seized. All drugs seized are now subject to examination by Forensic Science Ireland (FSI). 

The searches are part of an ongoing operation aimed at targeting the sale and supply of illegal drugs and related criminal activity in Limerick city. This investigation was led by members attached to Henry Street garda station.
