The emergency PSU meeting takes place at 1pm this Monday
THE POSTGRADUATE Students' Union at University of Limerick (ULPSU) has called an emergency meeting this Monday in relation to their stance regarding "no confidence" in the college's president.
Limerick Live revealed on Sunday that 10 members of the college’s executive committee signed a letter calling on the president, Professor Kerstin Mey, to effectively resign. It is over the university paying “significantly above market price” for 20 properties in Rhebogue.
Twenty homes in the city suburb were purchased for more than €11m - or around €550,000 each, on average, before any stamp duty. It has resulted in a financial loss to the university of €5.2m.

ULPSU - the representative body for all postgraduate students on all postgraduate issues in UL - has called the online meeting for 1pm this Monday, March 25.
The topic is "PSU stance regarding 'no confidence' in UL's president". "All UL postgrads, which number around 4,000, are welcome to attend," said a spokesperson.
One former staff member told Limerick Live when 10 of the 13-strong UL executive committee (which includes President Mey) call for you to consider your position there is "something clearly wrong".
"When the leadership of the university's president is built on sand the college can't focus on the student experience as it lurches from crisis to crisis," said the source.
