Gaelic Sounds to bring a host of top talents to Limerick's Gaelic Grounds

Gaelic Sounds to bring the host of top

The Whistlin Donkeys

If you’ve ever wanted to hear donkeys whistle, you’re in luck, as Gaelic Sounds promises to bring the best of Irish folk music and ballads to the Limerick

Following a sell-out Wolfe Tones show last year, The Whistlin Donkeys will headline a fantastic line-up including George Murphy & Rising Sons, All Folk’d Up, The Highstool Prophets, and Fieldsy & Guest.

It’ll be the first time in five years that The Whistlin Donkeys return to Limerick, bringing with them their unique blend of trad and Celtic rock.

Hailing from Tyrone, the band have been entertaining crowds since 2011 and has gathered a wide following across the globe, selling out both Vicar Street and the RDS earlier this year, while also enjoying successful tours of America and Australia

They won’t be the only ones getting people's feet moving at the Ennis Road venue, as George Murphy & The Rising Sons, one of the most exciting voices in Irish folk music, join them off the back of their US tour.

Bringing a new-wave feel to the Irish folk circuit, All Folk’d Up will utilise their ability to reimagine classics and infuse them with a modern and up-tempo twist that will endear them to fans old and new.

The High Stool Prophets will be adding their talent to the mix, after blazing a trail on the Irish folk scene with a string of sold-out shows, TV appearances and new music releases.

Just having returned to her native Ireland from England, Dublin-born Fieldsy promises to bring a mixture of her enchanting powerful voice and upbeat rhythmic guitar to give an energetic performance.

The gig will take place on Friday, August 30 at the Technological University of the Shannon: Midlands Midwest (TUS) Gaelic Grounds, with go on sale this Thursday 30, with tickets starting at €37.90.
