Vitalograph, a global leader in respiratory diagnostics, has announced it's to create 60 new jobs in Limerick and Clare as part of a significant expansion
VITALOGRAPH, a global leader in respiratory diagnostics, has announced it's to create 60 new jobs in Limerick and Clare as part of a significant expansion.
The company has a significant presence in Cecil Street in Limerick city centre and its primary location for Research & Development and Manufacturing has been Ennis, County Clare, since 1974.
Its office in Limerick was opened last year, following the announcement of a €10m investment.
The family-owned company was established in Buckinghamshire, England in 1963 and this year marks its 60th anniversary.
Commenting on the expansion plans, Ambrose Downey, chief people officer at Vitalograph said: “Ireland’s leadership in the MedTech sector is well documented; we punch well above our weight. Vitalograph is no exception. This recruitment drive is a strategic move to meet the increasing global demand for our respiratory diagnostic solutions and clinical trial services.
"Vitalograph is having a meaningful impact tackling some of the world’s biggest healthcare challenges, and by building skilled teams, Vitalograph will be able to reach its fullest potential.”
The company designs and manufactures medical devices that help clinicians detect, diagnose, and manage respiratory conditions such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and cystic fibrosis.
The new roles, which will be in Limerick and Clare, include positions in clinical trial support, engineering, IT and finance.
Notably, Vitalograph says it is seeking 50 Data Processors (Cough Analysts) to increase its capabilities for clinical trial support. The roles will be a boost for local employment, and a great number of these positions are entry-level, suiting a wide variety of people with diverse skills and backgrounds.
Since the early 2000s, Vitalograph has been enabling pharmaceutical companies researching therapies for respiratory conditions through its clinical trial services.
The new roles, announced this Tuesday, will bring the company's global headcount to 500, with 350 of those based in Ireland.
