Boy, 16, hospitalised following collision  between e-scooter and car on busy Limerick road

WITNESSES are being sought after a 16-year-old boy was hospitalised after he was knocked from his e-scooter by a car which failed to remain at the scene of the incident. 

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the collision, at Hyde Road, Limerick city, at approximately 8pm last Friday.

"A teenage youth was taken to University Hospital Limerick with non-life threatening injuries," confirmed a garda spokesperson who added: "The driver of the car failed to remain at the scene."

According to eye-witnesses, the offending vehicle - a black saloon car - continued travelling in the direction of Lenihan Avenue, Prospect following the incident.

It's understood the juvenile has since been discharged from hospital and he is said to be recovering from his ordeal.
