Fayre returns to Limerick village after pandemic

All set for the Knockaderry Village Fayre which takes place this Sunday, August 20

THE Knockaderry village fayre in Limerick is returning after a two-year break due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The organising committee behind the fayre promise a fun weekend with events for young and old. There is something for everyone, such as live music, dancing, sports tournaments, ‘Monster Bingo’ and more.

Knockaderry Clouncagh Community Council are putting preparations in place to host the festivities this coming Sunday.

The fayre will also help raise funds for the upkeep of community facilities in Knockaderry such as the resource centre and community library, as well as providing funds for community events throughout the year.

These include classes, dances, concerts, and plays.

The Liam MacCarthy cup will be making a special guest appearance at the fayre on the Sunday afternoon.

These community events funded by the fayre along with the Pobal scheme “act as the heartbeat of community life in the area” said Sean Liston, PRO of the Knockaderry Clouncagh community council.

Some of the highlights of this year’s event will include Kids karting and hay bale racing.

Following the main events a rambling house of music and dance will be held, on Sunday evening, in the Halla Beag bar which is located within the community centre.

“We look forward to the full support of all in this fundraiser event to ensure the continued good operation of our community facilities,” said Sean.

Sponsorships and donations for the Wheel of Fortune and Book Stall items can be dropped to the community centre each day between 9am and 11am.

People interested in getting involved with the Knockaderry Clouncagh community council can contact Linda at 089 430 5573.
