Thief takes advantage of All-Ireland final to steal car from Limerick house

WHILE hurling fans were watching the thrilling showdown between Limerick and Kilkenny, criminals took advantage of the distraction to steal a car. 

On Sunday, July 23 between 3pm and 5pm, a criminal broke a window at a house in Garryowen and found the keys to the homeowner's car. 

The thief then drove off in the car.

The owner of his car, in his 30s, was away on holidays but had asked his neighbour to keep an eye on his home in his absence. 

The neighbour did but the incident happened while he was watching the match. When he checked the house, he saw that the car was gone and found the side window smashed.
