THE LIMERICK LGBTQ Pride Festival kicked off in style with a drag queen night in McGettigans in the city, promising a week filled with events.
A number of local drag performers got the crowd hyped for the week’s festivities in the Limerick pub on Monday night.
There are plenty more events to come as part of the festival as the festivities heat up leading to the Limerick Pride Parade this coming Saturday, July 8.
Print with Pride takes place at Limerick Printmakers from 4.30pm to 6pm this Wednesday.
It is a free event where you can bring along t-shirts, jumpers, tote bags, or simply use some of the paper at the event, to create your own custom Limerick Pride silk screen art piece denoting the 30-year anniversary of the decriminalisation of homosexuality in Ireland.
On Thursday, The Morning After The Life Before by Ann Blake takes place at 7pm at Dolans Warehouse. Gúna Nua presents the multi-award winning play for one night only.
On Friday, Press with Pride - a creative class hosted by Pressed Flowers by Nell - takes place from 1pm to 2.30pm in the garden area of House Limerick.
On Saturday, the Limerick Pride Parade will bring some extra colour and music to Limerick City Centre.
It will depart from City Hall, Merchants Quay at 2pm and will travel a route around the city centre.
