Ulster Bank's flagship Limerick branch in O'Connell Street closes in April
ULSTER Bank’s two Limerick branches will close in April, the lender has announced.
It follows the business’s decision to quit the Republic of Ireland market, and means the shutters will fall for the final time at its flagship outlet at O’Connell Street in the city centre and its branch in the Crescent Shopping Centre.
Transactions in these branches, apart from cash machine services will cease on March 31, while the full closure will occur at close of business on Friday, April 21.
The Ulster Bank branch in Shannon town, meanwhile, is to be converted into a Permanent TSB outlet.
Ulster Bank has also confirmed its customers will no longer be able to access through An Post outlets after March 31.
It means that customers will no longer be able to make lodgements or payments through their Ulster Bank accounts in any of An Post’s network of post offices and outlets across the country.
Nationally, around 600 people will leave Ulster Bank, with the lender also expected to open another voluntary redundancy programme next month with further layoffs later in 2023 and beyond as the work continues to reduce or cease.
People with Ulster Bank accounts who have not switched their provider yet are being urged to do so.
