Rotarians to host free drop-in blood pressure clinic in Limerick

SHOPPERS in Limerick will be able to have their blood pressure checked for free this weekend.

Limerick-North Munster Rotary Cub, whose members provide service to others, will set up shop in the Augustinian's Church at O'Connell Street in the city centre for a clinic between 11am and 2.45pm.

Three doctors will be on hand for the clinic.

Well-known local auctioneer Pat Kearney, a member of the local rotary club says their annual event always proves popular among people.

"We find the public really look forward to it. It's a great opportunity, particularly for elderly people who might not bother going to a doctor when they should. They can walk into a church, say a prayer if they want to and get instant result on their blood pressure," he explained.

Advice can be given based on their results, he added.

The blood pressure clinic is open to everyone.
