The Irish Blood Transfusion Service is seeking donations at two upcoming clinics in Limerick
THE IRISH Blood Transfusion Service (IBTS) is urging people across Limerick to keep donating blood following the recent spell of hot weather, which has led to a “noticeable drop” in donations.
IBTS is asking people to "consider deferring just an hour in the sun to make a life-saving difference".
“Demand from Irish hospitals has not slowed down,” said Alex O'Connor, IBTS recruitment executive.
“Your donation can help ensure patients continue to get the blood they urgently need. We know the sunshine is tempting, but giving blood takes less than an hour and could mean the world to someone in need.”

Blood clinics will be running in the Castletroy Park Hotel on Monday, August 25 and Tuesday, August 26 from 4.20-7.40pm, and at Devon Inn Templeglantine on Wednesday, August 27 and Thursday, August 28 from 4.50-8.10pm.
New and returning donors are welcome. All blood types are needed but particularly O negative, A positive and AB negative.
Every donation makes a “profound difference”. One unit of blood can save or significantly improve the lives of up to three people.
