Limerick hospitals group issues update after Covid-19 outbreak

VISITING restrictions at Ennis Hospital have been eased following a Covid-19 outbreak on both wards.

The University of Limerick Hospitals Group has announced that a small number of patients are affected and all appropriate infection prevention and control measures are being taken.

From this Friday, patients are permitted one visitor per day during normal visiting hours.

Visiting hours at Ennis are from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm every day.

Exemptions from the visiting restrictions continue to apply on compassionate grounds for patients who are critically ill or at end-of-life, and for people assisting confused patients (e.g., patients with dementia). These exemptions are on a case-by-case basis.

People experiencing Covid-19 symptoms - or are suffering any other communicable disease - are asked now to come to the hospital.
