Garda probe after reports Limerick pensioner suffered serious injuries
A LIMERICK pensioner is understood to have suffered a serious assault in her own home.
The incident occurred in a property in the city on Saturday afternoon, August 6.
The woman, thought to be in her 70s, was taken to University Hospital Limerick with what are understood to be injuries of a serious nature.
In response to a query by Limerick Live, a garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí are conducting enquiries into an incident recorded in Limerick on August 6, 2023."
There is a deep sense of shock in the locality following the incident.
Investigations are ongoing.
