DCU notched the opening four points of the game, but UL came roaring back to lead by eight points at half-time.

The Mayo duo of Frank Irwin and Cian McHale were in fine form, notching eight points between. Conal Dawson also stood out with Clare midfielder Brian McNamara scoring the only goal of the game on 24 minutes.
