JIMMY Lee has named his Limerick senior football team to face Longford in the opening round of the Allianz Division Four National League.
The action gets underway at 2pm on Sunday in Glennon Brothers Pearse Park, Longford.
Ten players are included in the starting XV from the Limerick team that were defeated by Sligo in the Tailteann Cup quarter-final. That was Limerick's last competitve outing on June 15 in 2024.
Lee has included three debutants on the Limerick starting XV. Oran Collins, Fiachra Cotter and Mark McCarthy make their debuts in the full back line. Collins impressed on Adare's run to winning the senior football championship this year. Cotter and McCarthy stood out on Fr Casey's path to the county final.
Oola sharpshooter Josh Ryan continues his role as Limerick's goalkeeper for 2025. Joint vice-captain Barry Coleman is partnered by Killian Ryan and Paul Maher in the Shannonsiders half back line.
Dromcollogher Broadford's Cillian Fahy captains Limerick for the 2025 season. Fahy and Tommie Childs line out together in midfield on Sunday. Emmett Rigter was named in the Tailteann Cup team last year. Rigter is joined by Andrew Meade and James Naughton in the half forward line.
Tony McCarthy missed some of the club championship through injury. McCarthy has returned from injury to make up the full forward line alongside Peter Nash and Rob Childs.
