Seasons on the line in Limerick senior football championship

THE final round of group stage fixtures in the Limerick Senior Football Championship takes place this Friday and Saturday.

Newcastle West and Mungret-St Paul's have advanced directly into this year's SFC semi-finals.

The quarter-finals will see the second and third-placed teams in groups one and two battle it out for a place in the last four of the competition. Fr Casey's, Galtee Gaels and Adare have already confirmed their place in the quarter-finals.

There is a battle in group one between Na Piarsaigh and St Kieran's to claim the final spot in the quarter-finals.

All three group games take place in group one this Saturday at 5pm.

Adare meet Na Piarsaigh in Ballybrown. Last year's county finalists Adare need a victory or a draw to secure second place in group one.

If Na Piarsaigh win this clash, Michael Lynch's side are through to the knock-out stages.

Even if the Caherdavin side are defeated in this game they could still reach the quarter-finals as long as St Kieran's are defeated by Mungret-St Paul's.

Group one leaders, Mungret-St Paul's will look to make it five wins out of five against St Kieran's.

This will be Mungret's-St Paul's final game before the SFC semi-finals. Kevin O'Hagan's charges have impressed throughout the Championship where Darragh O'Hagan, John Hutton and Darragh Bridgeman have all impressed for the 2023 county intermediate winners.

St Kieran's need to defeat the city side and the West Limerick club need Adare to get the better of Na Piarsaigh, in order for St Kieran's to reach the knock-out stages.

The final game in group one takes place in Kilteely on Saturday evening where Ballylanders and Monaleen face off in a do-or-die clash.

The winner of this fixture will avoid the relegation final against Ballysteen. A draw between Monaleen and Ballylanders would see Ballylanders retain their status and Monaleen face into the relegation final.

In group two, Newcastle West will look to maintain their unbeaten record against Ballysteen on Friday at 7.30pm in Mick Neville Park.

The Magpies are bidding to win four county titles in-a-row for the first time in the club's history.

Galtee Gaels take on Fr Casey's in the TUS GAA Pitch in Moylish at the same time on Friday. The winner will finish in second place and play the third-placed team from group one in the SFC quarter-finals.

If Galtee Gaels and Fr Casey's finishes deadlocked, the Abeeyfeale-based club will finish in second place in group one.

Oola meet Kildimo-Pallaskenry in the final game in group two at Claughaun on Saturday, 5pm.

Neither side can reach the knockout stages. Oola and Kidimo-Pallaskenry have cemented their status as senior clubs for 2025 and both clubs will be looking to finish their respective season's on a high.
