THE action in the Limerick Senior Football Championships gets back underway on Thursday August 15. After two rounds of action in June and July, teams will look to book their place into the knockout stages, while for other teams it will be about getting thier Championship campaign back on track.

In Group one table toppers Mungret St Pauls face Monaleen who are yet to register a win in Claughan on Thursday August 15 at 6:45pm. At the same time, Adare and Ballylanders will look to get their Championship campaigns back on track in Kilmallock. Both sides have registered a win and a defeat. Adare are currently in third place on two points and Ballylanders are just behind them in fourth place on two points. Adare's scoring difference has them just ahead of their opponents. In Ballybrown at 6:45pm, St Kieran's who are unbeaten in the Limerick SFC face Na Piarsaigh who are yet to register a win.

A win for Mungret St Paul's or St Kieran's could see them advance into the knockout stages of the Limerick SFC, while a defeat for Monaleen and Na Piarsaigh will see them enter a relegation battle.

In Group two, reigning county champions Newscastle West take on bottom placed Oola in Mungret on Thursday August 15 at 6:45pm. A day later in Pallasgreen, second placed Galtee Gaels will look to build on their impressive start to the Championship against Kildimo Pallaskenry at 6:45pm. On Saturday evening August 17, League champions Fr Casey's meet Ballysteen in Sean Finn Park, Rathkeale at 6:30pm.

A win for Newcastle West or Galtee Gaels in round three will put either side in a strong position, while Fr Casey's and Kildimo Pallaskenry will feel a win in this round is critical for their Championship aspirations. It has been difficult start for Ballysteen and Oola and both sides know a win could get them out of the relegation battle.
