U20 hurling: Our u20 hurlers played Blackrock in the county semi final in UL in front of great support from the Ballybricken-Bohermore crowd. Blackrock looked sharp from the first whistle and the fast surface of UL suited their style of play well. They quickly went a few points up and our backs needed to be at their best. Bally going their rhythm halfway through the first half and a flurry of goals followed. Rory Hanly won a great ball in the half forward line before passing to Jack Barry who calmly found the bottom corner. Shortly after Michael Hanly broke through the defence to rattle the net, he doubled his tally without delay after combining well with his brother Rory to send the ball into the roof of the net. Blackrock went down the pitch and were awarded a penalty. John Pratt stood tall and made a brilliant save and clearance to deny the Blackrock man and see both teams head in at halftime on level scores.
The second half was a lot more open and Blackrock made good use of their speed in the forwards. Scott Ryan did his best to keep Bally in touch. He slotted over a couple of frees while also winning several puck outs in a row and converting some well taken scores. Blackrock seemed to have the upper hand through out the second half and despite ballys best efforts they were unable to get their noses back in front.
Final score B-B: 3-8 Blackrock: 2-17

FR CASEYS
Fixtures: County U20 Championship Fr Caseys V Monaleen – Saturday, December 6 in Abbeyfeale at 2pm
County U20 Championship: Fr Caseys 2-10 Oola 3-9. Fr Caseys kicked off their U20 county championship last Saturday with a very difficult away trip to Oola. It was the old cliché of goals win games and in a five-goal thriller it was the home side that escaped with a narrow victory. Involved in a small group of three teams this result simply means that Fr. Caseys need to defeat Monaleen next Saturday in round two or their campaign is over as soon as it started. Playing at home however and with a very talented and experienced side we are more than capable of turning our fortunes around. Hopefully a large crowd will make the trip to the Inch to cheer on the team. The throw in time vs Monaleen in Abbeyfeale next Saturday is 2pm

The minor team did not qualify out of the group stage and the under 20 Championship is ongoing at present, they had a good over Shannon Geals in round one, they will be away to Claughaun on this Wednesday night at 8pm and on Saturday they are away to Ahane at 2pm in round three. A lot of players who won the ‘B’ Championship last season are eligible to play this season they have moved up to the ‘A’ grade.
ELECTION OF OFFICERS: Due to the passing of Club President Fr Dick Kelly during the year this position had to be filled. Outgoing Vice President Jack Barry was the unanimous choice of the meeting, the club now had to fill the Vice President positions, again all were in agreement to Patrick English and Tom Kearney as their choice. LADIES FOOTBALL: It was a case of all roads leading to Martinstown on Sunday last for the County final against Feohanagh-Castlemahon. Both sides played some very good football to reach the final this game was played in wind and rain which made it difficult underfoot. At half time the sides were level 1-3 each there was some great football played in the second half with Feohanagh-Castlemahon running out winners on the score 3-8 to 2-9.
HURLING: Well done to Galtee Gaels players Cian and Olin Ryan and Sean Gallahue who were part of the Garryspillane team who won the county U20 final on Saturday last.

JUNIOR A CAMOGIE: Hard Luck to Our Junior Camogie Team who had a tough day at the office on Saturday as they bowed out of the Munster Championship after a hard-fought battle against a very strong Brian Borus side in the Munster semi-final.
The girls left everything on the pitch and represented the club with pride from first whistle to last. Well done to Sinead Madden, who led the team with great heart and determination as captain on the day. A sincere thank you to everyone involved in welcoming the travelling supporters — the hospitality shown in the community centre was fantastic and greatly appreciated by all. Full time score: Mungret St Pauls 1-5 Brian Borus: 4-15.
LADIES FOOTBALL: Minor Championship Semi Final, Galtee Gaels v Mungret. With an early throw in at Kilbeheney, It was Galtee Gaels who got off to the better start. Mungret were against the wind and despite being 5 points down at half time, a ferocious effort was put in for the 2nd half. Mungret were tenacious and showed fantastic team spirit throughout. The first goal of the game in the 3rd quarter, started a real rally, along with a few nicely taken points. This minor team never gave up, never lost heart, another goal in the net for Mungret with a few minutes to go.
It was a display of great football, and a real positive attitude, but alas time was against the ladies in red and it was the home side who came away with the spoils. Well done to the all female management for taking on this team, Carol Bateman, Shannon Burke, Roisin Duffy, Claire O Meara, Lisa Reilly and Aine Ryan all of which are current club players. Final score Galtee Gaels 0-15 Mungret 2-7
Well done to Maria Conway, Sive Finnerty, Sadhbh Hanley, Sophie Lynch, Sophia Neville and Eilis O Neill, who have been selected for the County U16 Teams in 2026.
U20 PREMIER HURLING FINAL: Mungret St. Pauls 2-15 Na Piarsaigh 1-10
Mungret St Pauls were crowned U20 Premier Hurling Champions in Mick Neville Park on Sunday, November 30 after a composed, disciplined, and ultimately decisive performance saw them defeat Na Piarsaigh by 2-15 to 1-10. It was a victory built on resilience early on, dominance in the middle third, and the clinical finishing that defined this remarkable group all season. The weather made play slippy but both teams adjusted to the conditions.
Na Piarsaigh opened the scoring, but Mungret St. Pauls settled quickly. Two frees from the reliable Mark O’Brien had the sides level before the first major moment of the final arrived. In the 11th minute, Luke Walsh pounced on a breaking ball and rifled home the opening goal, igniting the Mungret St. Pauls support. Moments later, Rory O’Callaghan added a superb point from play to push the lead to four.
John Wright stretched the advantage further with a well-taken score on 15 minutes as Mungret St. Pauls controlled the physical exchanges. Na Piarsaigh kept in touch through frees, but Mark O’Brien delivered again before the break—this time with an outstanding sideline cut followed by a long-range 65. Mungret St. Pauls went in at half time deservedly ahead, 1-7 to 0-4, after a composed and mature opening half.
The second half began with the same confidence. Mark O’Brien split the posts from play after three minutes to extend the lead, and though Na Piarsaigh responded, O’Brien’s frees helped maintain a six-point cushion entering the middle period of the half.
On 15 minutes came the turning point that would ultimately seal the title. A sweeping move saw Killian Begley burst through before offloading to Mark O’Brien, who buried the ball to the net to make it 2-10 to 0-7. Even when Na Piarsaigh hit back with a goal of their own three minutes later, Mungret St. Pauls remained sharp and composed.
bBgley, growing stronger as the game went on, added a point from play to steady the ship.
As Na Piarsaigh chased the game, Mungret St. Pauls discipline told. O’Brien tapped over frees to keep the scoreboard ticking, and in injury time Begley tacked on another brilliant point from play to seal the win. The final whistle sparked huge celebrations as Mungret St Pauls lifted the county title on a proud day for the parish.
Captain Fintan Fitzgerald accepted the cup on behalf of the panel, thanking Na Piarsaigh for a great contest, acknowledging the coaches, players, supporters, county board and club, and giving a heartfelt mention to the late Joe Harrington, a man who had played a central role in this group’s development. He finished his speech with a rousing “Up the Parish!”
Centre-back Sean Duff capped a towering performance by deservedly claiming Man of the Match, anchoring the defence with composure and leadership throughout.
The celebrations rolled on long into the night in Mungret, as the players, mentors, families, and supporters toasted a wonderful achievement by an exceptional group of young men. Up the Parish!

NA PIARSAIGH
U20 Hurling Championship Fina: - Na Piarsaigh 1-10, Mungret 2-15
Mick Neville Park in Rathkeale was the setting for our U20 county final meeting with Mungret on Sunday afternoon. This was a repeat of the first round tie, of which our city opponents came out on top by a single point. We scored a well earned semi-final win over Doon last Monday night at the same venue, with Mungret recording a comfortable victory over Monaleen in the other semi-final.
We got off to a bright start with Alex Kearns landing a lovely score from the far sideline. Eoin Brosnan drove one over a couple of minutes later to leave the sides level at 2 apiece. Mungret responded to our leveller with their first goal. They added a couple more points in the opening half while Alex kept our hopes alive with a handful of frees. It was clear from the opening exchanges the physical power of our opponents. While we were doing our utmost to match them for hurling, we were coming up short in the 50:50 challenges and rucks. But we stuck it out and didn’t drop the heads. Score at half time: Na Piarsaigh 0-04 Mungret 1-7.
Both teams traded scores at the start of the second half. David O’Keeffe landed a neat point, with Mark Hogan adding a second. We were unfortunate to lose Ronan Benson to a head injury soon into the second period. Ronan was one of our standout performers in the opening half, continuing his great form from the semi-final. He was switched to wing back before throw-in following Tadhg Mullane's withdrawal due to illness. Mungret struck their second goal with 46 minutes on the clock to put 9 between the sides.
Our best play of the game came with 10 minutes remaining. A goal finished to the net by Alex Kearns. Josh Sheehan delivered a long ball into the full forward line, wonderfully fielded by Mark Hogan. He turned for goal, flicking the ball across the goal mouth for Alex to bat to the net. It was a great phase of play from our lads to bring the deficit back to 5 points. Unfortunately that was as close as we were to get, with Mungret running out 8-point winners.
Great credit is due to Evan Condon and his management team of Emmet Beston, Evan Sweaney, Podge Kennedy and William O’Donoghue for the great time and commitment given to the group over the past few months. With the new split season, the U20 grade is a hard one to get right with players being pulled from all angles at the tail end of the season. Our U20 squad had lads involved in senior, intermediate, junior B, Junior C and minor hurling this year. This coupled with a handful of lads involved with Harty Cup, third level and intercounty squads. The squad had 5 players up to the age in James Finn, Josh Sheehan, Sam Jordan and Ger O’Tiarnaigh along with the injured John O’Tiarnaigh. The campaign will bring these lads on so much and the hurt of losing a county final will surely drive the group to bigger and better things.
Team: Darragh Jordan, Mike Duggan, John O'Keeffe, Harry McGann, Ronan Benson, James Finn, Adam Fitzsimons, David O'Keeffe(0-1), Sam Jordan, Josh Sheehan, Paul McDonogh, Ger O'Tiarnaigh, Alex Kearns (1-7, 0-6f), Eoin Brosnan (0-1), Mark Hogan (0-1).
Subs used: Conor Bermingham, Ferdia Minihane, Danny Sheehan & Ben O'Regan.
Subs not used: Marcus Murphy, Padraig Murnane, Thomas Fitzgerald, Sean Harrington, James McGann, Brian Óg Connolly, Louis Murphy, Ben Murray, Edmund Hillary, Leon Power, John O’Tiarnaigh (inj), Tadhg Mullane (inj).

PATRICKSWELL
CAMOGIE: Patrickswell's epic season ended with an All-Ireland semi-final defeat to Bridini Oga of County Antrim at a chilly Blanchardstown. While Rachel O'Grady gave Patrickswell a quick lead with a point, our opponents tool control with devastating effect. Their equalising point was followed by a penalty goal and five additional points without reply. By the 22nd minute, Bridini Oga were 1-6 to 0-1 ahead. Their second goal was a hammer blow, that was supplemented with two more points. At the interval, Patrickswell were thirteen points behind at 2-8 to 0-1.
The second half began brightly as Rachel O'Grady scored two points and Ciara Barry hit the net. By the 40th minute, Patrickswell were eight points adrift at 2-8 to 1-3. However, the 'Well did not score for another twenty minutes as Bridini Oga hit a third goal and another point to cruise twelve points ahead at 3-9 to 1-3. Roisin O’Brien's consolation goal brought down the curtain on a marvellous season which delivered a County title, promotion to senior camogie and a Munster crown.
