FR CASEYS
LEAGUE TITLE: Fr Caseys 0-10 Newcastle West 0-8. Fr Caseys travelled to Feenagh last Friday evening looking to gain revenge on their neighbours after a painful penalty shoot-out defeat just three weeks earlier in the West Final. With the County League title this time on offer it was the Abbeyfeale men that drew first blood with a point after four minutes.
Newcastle West soon levelled and although Fr Caseys regained the lead twice more Newcastle were on hand to equalise on both occasions. Newcastle West found a purple patch on twenty minutes and took a two point lead but Fr Caseys were back on level terms by the half time break. The half time score was 0-5 each.
Fr Caseys made a blistering start to the third quarter kicking three points without reply to hold a commanding advantage for the first time. Newcastle West were never going to lie down easily and replied with three unanswered points to level the scores and leave a nail biting finish with five minutes on the watch.
Having left the West title behind them in Athea our seniors were not going home without silverware this time and kicked two points to lead 0-10 to 0-8 as full time approached.
Four minutes of injury time was played but the Fr Caseys defence stood firm to record a much deserved victory. Both silverware and bragging rights has been a long time in waiting and while both teams were short some key personnel this is a victory we will enjoy while waiting for the county championship to commence in the next fortnight. Well done to all involved on a fine win and long may the good times continue.

Although it wasn't the outcome we had hoped for, these ladies were fantastic on the day, and as a club we are very proud of them. It was an exceptional day for one of young hurlers as he got the honor of playing at half time of the Munster Hurling Final in Thurles on Sunday. Congratulations to Jack Houlihan representing Gaelscoil An Ráithín and Mungret St Pauls.
It was a weekend of county hurling matches as our Academy players were in different counties with the U-14s in Tallow, Waterford. Well done to Mungret St. Pauls players Sean Donnelly and Cian Reilly. The U15 hurlers were in Ardrahan, Galway. Well done to Mungret St Pauls player Ruairi Dwane. The U16 hurlers were at home in Old Christians playing Galway. Well done to Mungret St. Pauls players Rory Gleeson, Killian Begley, Oisin Donnelly and Rory O’Callaghan.
U13 FOOTBALL: Mungret St Pauls had both our U13 Footballers out on Monday, June 10 with the Division 1 team in Monagea playing the hosts in a game crammed full of skill. A strong lead was built up by the end of the first half which helped them through to the second half. Monagea kept the pressure on in the second half but Mungret St Pauls proved too strong and ended the game with their third win in their fourth game.
Mungret St Pauls 4-2 Monagea 2-4. The Division 3 team were playing in Bruree in their fifth game. Mungret St. Pauls had a great first half building up a strong leading score, Killacolla Gaels came back out stronger but it was Mungret St Pauls that were more direct in their scores and took the win at the final whistle. This is a second win for this team as they are our U12 team playing mainly 13 year olds.
Mungret St. Pauls 4-8 Killacolla Gaels 1-4.
JUNIOR CAMOGIE: Well done to our Junior Camogie team who travelled to Galbally on Friday night and had a good win against the hosts!
U12 CAMOGIE: The curtains came down on the U12 Limerick Camogie Development Spring League on Thursday night as our two teams welcomed Ahane and Granagh-Ballingarry. There were some really great performances from all teams and great support from the sidelines!

To the U13 girls who put in a great battling performance in their league semi final v Granagh-Ballingarry. The girls started slowly, and although they were on top in the second half and trailed by just a single point with 10 minutes to go, they couldn’t quite complete what would have been a remarkable comeback. Focus now switches to preparing for the championship later in the summer.

CONDOLENCES: Condolences to Mike Roche and family on the passing of Larry (Co Cork). Brother to Mike, brother in law to Rose, uncle to players Cillian and Sammy, extended family and Friends. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.
JUNIOR B FOOTBALL: Mungret St Pauls 1-7 St Kierans 1-9. On Thursday, June 13 in Askeaton our Junior B Footballers were prepared for the County League final against St Kierans. This is the third time these two sides met already this year but it was not a favourable result for us.
The whole game was quite tight as both teams saw time with a point or two ahead only for the other side to return with a reply with a score. It came down to the wire where both sides were level going into the last ten minute of the game. It was St Kierans who broke the draw and added again to it before the final whistle leaving St Kierans accepting the County trophy.
The focus now turns to championship with us wishing all our teams the very best of Luck in all matches for the remainder of the year.

It must not go unsaid that there are a couple more lads from that 2011 panel currently on the injury list that would undoubtedly be lining out on Wednesday night had their fortunes been different. Adrian Breen, Alan Dempsey and Niall Buckley are all recovering from long-term injuries and we look forward to their return later in the season.
Our lads are coming into this final having won each of the group games in the City division, followed by an 8-point victory over Patrickswell in the City Final. We followed this City Final victory with a win over Murroe-Boher in the county semi-final, finishing on a score-line of 3-21 to 1-19.
Kilmallock went four wins from five in the South Division with their sole loss coming against Garryspillane. They went on to avenge that loss beating the Bouncers by three points in the South Final. They followed this up with a 2-point victory over Dromin-Athlacca in the County League Semi-final.
We look forward to a keenly contested affair on Wednesday evening and appeal to all Na Piarsaigh members, family and friends to get out to Rathkeale and support Shane O’Neill, his management team and squad of players that continue to deliver great days for Na Piarsaigh.
