AS THE sun shone down on Askeaton, 10 local primary schools including St. James NS Cappagh, Scoil Naomh Mhuire Askeaton, Kilcolman, Ballysteen, Kilcornan, St. Senans Foynes, Shauntrade, Scoil Naomh Mhuire Ballyhahill, Gerald Griffins NS Loughill, and St. Senans NS Foynes made their way to Askeaton GAA Club to complete in the annual Coláiste Mhuire 7 aside Primary School Gaelic Football blitz.

Limerick GAA GDAs David O'Dea and Peter Nash were on site to offer vital assistance and direction over the course of the blitz. Limerick LGFA Secretary Caroline Reidy was also present and offered huge support in both the planning and implementation of the blitz. Former Limerick hurler and Limerick GAA GDA Paul Brown also made a special appearance on the day.

Limerick U20's and Senior Hurling star Shane O'Brien took time out of his busy training and work schedule to attend the blitz to meet all the players and present the awards and medals at the end. Coláiste Mhuire were also honoured to have the Liam McCarthy Cup back for a second year in a row.

The blitz was organised and ran by the staff and students of Coláiste Mhuire. Congratulations to all the winners and we hope to see you all back for our next blitz in 2025!
