Scoil na Tríonóide Naofa earn Limerick camogie schools final win

The Scoil na Tríonóide Naofa panel of players that beat FCJ Laurel Hill

IT WAS a great day for Scoil Na Tríonóide Naofa on Monday, December 4 after their earned Limerick Championship Camogie honours with a final win over FCJ Laurel Hill at UL'S North Campus.

Conditions could not have been better with Laurel Hill favoured by a slight breeze in the opening half. FCJ started the stronger and raced into a two point lead. However, Scoil Na Tríonóide Naofa soon got to grips with conditions and quickly levelled through Danielle Ryan and Lucy Heffernan.

There was great excitement with the skills on display and the game remained tight throughout the first half.
Just before half time Scoil Na Tríonóide Naofa were dealt a hammer blow when Laurel Hill scored a goal against the run of play leaving the score 1-5 to 0-4 at half time.

With the breeze now at their backs, Scoil Na Tríonóide Naofa began to take control of proceedings around the middle of the park.

The introduction of Aine Dillon for Scoil Na Tríonóide Naofa played a key role in Doon's quest for glory. Eabha Hourigan followed up with a point to add to another she scored in the first.

Jennifer Heffernan (2) and her sister Lucy then extended the lead. It was the goal by Danielle Ryan who was majestic throughout however that changed the game and saw STN earn victory.

Captain Shauna Heffernan finally got her hands on the cup for the school for the second time on three years, with Ryan deservedly named Player of the Match.
