In Pictures: 30,000 fans turn out to watch Limerick's epic Munster SHC clash with Clare

HOLDERS Limerick hosted great rivals Clare in a thrilling Munster senior hurling round robin fixture at the TUS Gaelic Grounds on Saturday night.

A bumper attendance of 30,460 turned out to watch the game which ended in a nail-biting 1-24 to 2-20 for Clare. It was a first championship defeat for John Kiely's Limerick side since their 2019 All-Ireland semi-final loss to Kilkenny at Croke Park.

Limerick, who had defeated Waterford in their opening round robin fixture at FBD Semple Stadium last weekend, return to the Thurles venue on Sunday, May 21 at 4pm.

Photographer Brendan Gleeson was on hand for the Limerick Leader on Saturday evening to capture all the colour and excitement from the big game.
