LIMERICK midfielder William O'Donoghue is in line to miss Sunday's Allianz Hurling League Final after the GAA's Central Competitions Committee (CCC) recommended that he be suspended following an incident in the semi-final.

O'Donoghue appeared to strike Tipperary's Alan Tynan before the throw-in and although the Na Piarsaigh man was not reprimanded by referee Liam Gordon at the time, the CCC have the power to deliver retrospective action.

The CCC have handed a one-match suspension to O'Donoghue and he will miss the game at Páirc Uí Chaoimh. Limerick open their Munster SHC campaign against Waterford in Thurles on Sunday, April 23 and O'Donoghue will be available for that game if he serves the one-match ban.
