Awards celebrate 'the very best' in the food and drinks industry
FOUR Limerick-based producers were honoured at the Blas na hÉireann 2024 awards, which celebrates the “very best” of Irish food and drink.
Those awarded from Limerick were Glen Aine, Kearney's Home Baking Ltd, Tim's Table and Ballyhoura Apple Farm, with Tim's Table awarded Best in County.
The awards are supported by Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Limerick, who said they are “once again delighted” to be a part of the awards.
“The Blas na hÉireann awards are a celebration of best in class for these food businesses and we are delighted to be involved by sponsoring the overall Best in Limerick award,” said Mike Cantwell, head of LEO Limerick.
“These awards recognise outstanding achievements by food companies in areas such as innovation, new product development, marketing and business development and the award winners should be very proud of what they have achieved.
“A special congratulations to our Best In County Winner Tim's Table, a deserved recognition of a wonderful product.”
Running for 17 years, Blas na hÉireann 2024 took place from Thursday, October 3 to Saturday, October 5 and saw four Limerick winners.
Over 3,000 entries were judged as part of this year’s awards, with judging taking place in June and July.
