Darragh McCullough meets Eadaoin O'Connell, an equine assisted learning facilitator
THE EAR to the Ground team make two trips to Limerick in this Thursday's show, February 6 at 7.30pm.
Ella McSweeney visits Tom Keane whose farm along the Shannon Estuary is a patchwork of delicate habitats, including salt marshes, brackish lagoons, and species-rich pastures, and is perfect for outwintering the ancient Irish native cattle breed, Droimeann.
Located in one of the most unique habitats in Ireland, Tom has found a way of productively farming, in tune with nature and the abundant wildlife surrounding him.
Ella explores how being part of the National Parks and Wildlife Service Farm Plan Scheme contributes to preserving and promoting biodiversity on his farm.
Meanwhile, growing up on a small farm, Eadaoin O’Connell always understood the benefit of working outdoors, alongside her beloved horses.

Now she uses that insight, and just two acres of the 30 acre family farm, to provide those same experiences to people with social, learning or physical challenges.
Eadaoin is an equine assisted learning facilitator, who works in partnership with her horses, to help clients develop essential life skills.
Darragh McCullough visited Siúl Liom in Mungret, and met some of those benefitting from the service.
