Chips are up for Limerick farmer recognised for his potatoes

A LIMERICK man nearly got (yukon) gold for his potatoes at the Tullamore Show.

Michael English, Dromkeen, claimed third place in the Bord Bia National Potato All-Ireland for his golden wonders.

Finalists are selected through agricultural shows during the summer, with the prestigious final being held in Tullamore - Ireland's largest one day show.

But the closest show to Michael's heart is Cappamore where he is heavily involved.

Michael is pictured with Angela Jordan, ISA; John Donoghue, Tullamore Show horticulture organiser; Bord Bia's Lorcan Bourke and Freda Kinnarney, ISA at the Bord Bia All Ireland Quality Potato Championship at the Tullamore Show and FBD National Livestock Show.
