Generation Glas participants in a workshop for their end-of-programme event at Cloughjordan Ecovillage earlier this year
A GROUP of young people from the Generation Glas sustainability ambassador programme are bringing a unique experience to the People’s Park in Limerick on Saturday, April 18 between 2:30pm and 5pm.
The event will feature a solar powered outdoor film screening of DreamWorks Bee Movie (2007), as well as sustainability themed games and activities for the whole family to enjoy. This initiative is led by the 28 young people taking part in the Generation Glas programme.
Generation Glas draws talented young people from diverse backgrounds across Ireland and supports them in becoming ambassadors for sustainability through an extended programme.

It gives them access to researchers, policymakers and other experts, educates them in the scientific and political contexts and trains them to become confident, creative communicators who can engage and represent their communities.
This event marks the culmination of the group’s eight-month journey through the programme, providing an opportunity for participants to put their learning into action. By creating a renewable-powered public event, the group aims to bring climate action directly into the community in a way that is visible, accessible, and engaging for all ages.
