Mid-West Sustainability Network leads green action with Shannon Chamber

THE MID-WEST Sustainability Network, under the guidance of Shannon Chamber, has announced the return of Sustainability Week, a dynamic series of in-person and online events taking place from September 22 to 25.

Now in its third year, the event is set to bring together business leaders, sustainability experts, and innovators for four days of learning, inspiration, and actionable insight across the core pillars of waste, water, energy, and biodiversity.

The week kicks off on Monday, 22 September, at Ei Electronics’ Centre of Excellence in Shannon.

Opening remarks will be delivered by Tom O’Carroll (Zimmer Biomet), David Keating (Ei Electronics), and Sinéad Murphy (The Shannon Airport Group), followed by a practical session with the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) and a cost-saving case study from Shannon Springs Hotel.

This will be followed by a session on business decarbonisation led by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI), alongside a cost-saving case study presented by Shannon Springs Hotel.

The afternoon will feature an online seminar from ESB Smart Energy Services, focusing on heat, transport, and the journey to net zero.

Over the following days, 24 companies from across Ireland will share case studies and insights into how they are embedding sustainability into core business operations.

The week will culminate in a full-day conference on Thursday 25, at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Limerick, where senior business leaders will present on the structures and strategies driving meaningful change within their organisations.

Participating companies include Britvic Ireland, Reagecon, Dexcom, ESB, ABC Nutritionals, Aerogen Ltd., AiP Thermoform Packaging, Cook Medical, and Astellas Ireland (Kerry).

Adding to the closing session will be sports psychologist Gary Keegan, fresh from his involvement with the British & Irish Lions.

He will deliver a keynote on leadership, team dynamics, and sustained performance, drawing parallels between elite sports and high-performing, sustainable organisations.
