A SECOND-year Chemical and Biochemical Engineering student at University of Limerick (UL), Niamh Kilbride, has been awarded the Ed Storey Scholarship in Chemical Sciences, funded by Chemifloc, a CSG Company headquartered in Shannon.

The scholarship is named in honour of Ed Storey, the co-founder of Chemifloc, which was established in 1981.

During the eight-month placement, Niamh will gain hands on experience with Chemifloc’s R&D and Engineering teams in a real industrial environment.

The award was presented by Kevin Quinn, CEO of CSG, at a ceremony at UL on Wednesday, attended by Dr Ed Roycroft, Chief Science Officer, CSG, Deirdre Bennett, Chief People Officer, CSG and representatives from UL’s Department of Chemical Sciences.
