Deaths in Limerick - October 14, 2018

The death has occurred of John Fitzsimons, of Knockpatrick, Foynes, Limerick and Cork

Formerly of Long Island New York, who passed away peacefully on Friday, October 12.

Deeply regretted by his sister Ita, brother William, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbours.May he rest in peace.

Reception prayers on Monday evening  at 5.30pm in Robertstown Church. Requiem mass on Tuesday at 12 noon with burial immediately afterwards in Robertstown Cemetery.

 

The death has occurred of Joan Long (née Mahony), of ‘Degorth’, Westfields, North Circular Road, Limerick and Durrow, Laois

Retired Nurse and late of Durrow, Co Laois

Joan died peacefully at Corbally House Nursing Home. Beloved wife of the late Tom. Dearest mother of Lelia, Brendan, Miriam, Brian and Emmett, adored grandmother of Daragh, Sinead, Maedbh, Daniel, Emer and Eva and loving sister of Larry, Martin, Maura and the late Jim. Sadly missed by her daughters-in-law Marian and Bernadette, Erica, sons-in-law Jeff and Steven.

May she rest in peace.

Reposing at Griffin’s Funeral Home, John’s Gate on Tuesday from 5pm. Removal at 6.30pm to Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Ennis Road. Requiem Mass on Wednesday at 11am. Burial afterwards in Castlemungret Cemetery.

Family flowers only, donations if desired to Alzheimer’s Society.

 

The death has occurred of Jim McInerney, of Vale Avenue, Carew Park, Limerick City, Limerick

Late of Fulflex and soccer referee, on October 12, 2018, peacefully at University Hospital Limerick. Beloved husband of Myra. Dearly loved father of Sandra, Richard, Noelle, Simone and Eric. Sadly missed by his loving sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great granddaughter Aubree, brothers Frank, Mick and Patsy, sisters Kitty and Eileen, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends. May he Rest in Peace. Reposing at Holy Family Church, Southill this Monday evening from 5pm to 7pm. Requiem Mass on Tuesday at 11am with burial afterwards in Mount St Oliver Cemetery. No flowers please. Donations if desired to the Resuscitation Unit University Hospital Limerick.

 

The death has occurred of Damien O’Shaughnessy, of 8 McDonagh Avenue, Janesboro, Limerick

Late of Flanagan’s on the Lake, Killaloe

Damien died peacefully at Milford Care Centre. Beloved husband of Sarah-Lee Kiely and adored father of Emily and Tiernan. Sadly missed by his wife and children, parents Cyril & Mary, sisters, parents-in-law Martin and Aileen Kiely, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, relatives & friends.

Reposing at Griffin’s Funeral Home, John’s Gate on Monday, Oct. 15, from 5pm. Removal at 6.30pm to St. John’s Cathedral. Requiem Mass on Tuesday, October 16 at 12.30pm. followed by private cremation.
