MEMBERS of the Faulkner family released doves at the graveside of their “beautiful angel” Scarlett in Meelick Cemetery.

The burial followed her funeral Mass in St Munchin’s Church in Limerick city this Friday. After the Mass, Scarlett’s ornate coffin was lifted shoulder high from the church onto the back of a flatbed lorry belonging to her late uncle John Faulkner.

Josephine (Joanne) Duffy, the partner of Scarlett's brother Thomas, shared the emotive video of the doves being released by family members on social media.

The birds, international symbols of peace, were released as the song In the Arms of an Angel was sung by her grave. There was applause from mourners as the doves soared high in the sky

It will be four weeks on Saturday since the 29-year-old mum from Longpavement in Limerick city was assaulted at the side of the road in Birdhill.

Scarlett (pictured below) passed away last Monday after her life support machine in Cork University Hospital was turned off on Sunday due to the severity of her injuries. She was the mother of one child, Oceanna, aged 6.

May Scarlett rest in peace.
