RIP: Limerick deaths and funeral details, Wednesday, March 4

The death has occurred of Michael Bernstein, 24 Glenma, Croom, Limerick, peacefully on March 1 at St Ita's Hospital, Newcastle West.

Deeply regretted by his nephew Jeffrey, his friend Mary, relatives and friends.

Cremation service will take place in Shannon Crematorium on Friday, March 6 at 2pm.

The death has occurred of Kay Furlong (nee Quirke), Ardnagassane, Cappawhite, Co Tipperary and late of Tiermanagh, Pallasgreen, Co Limerick, on March 4, peacefully in the exceptional care of the Woodlands Nursing Home, Dundrum.

Predeceased by her husband George and her sister Ann. 

Sadly missed by her loving son George, daughter Elaine, daughter-in-law Paula, son-in-law David, grandchildren Cooper, James, Joseph, Oliver and Alex, brothers Jerry, Jim, Eamonn and Mike, sisters Eileen, Mairéad and Paula, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Reposing at Whites Funeral Home, Cappawhite (E34 WR83) Friday evening, March 6 from 5.30pm with removal at7 pm to Our Lady of Fatima, Cappawhite. Requiem Mass Saturday, March 7 at 11.30am with burial afterwards in Cappawhite Cemetery.

The death has occurred of John Keane, late of Rathgar, Dublin, formerly of Janesboro, Limerick, ex- Outside Broadcasting RTE, on March 3, peacefully in the presence of his family in the wonderful care of Orwell Private, Rathgar, Dublin.

Beloved husband to Carmel and loving father of Toni.

Predeceased by his sister Pat.

Sadly missed by his loving wife, daughter, son-in-law Niall, sister Madaline, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, friends and colleagues. 

John will be reposing on Thursday evening, March 5 from 5pm until 7pm at the Larry Massey Funeral Home, 100 Terenure Road North, Dublin. Removal on Friday afternoon, March 6 to the Victorian Chapel, Mount Jerome Crematorium, Harold’s Cross arriving for 1.45pm Funeral Service.

The death has occurred of John Leddin, Parkview, Hyde Road, Limerick and formerly of Lansdowne Park, Ennis Road, Limerick on March 2, unexpectedly at his residence.

Predeceased by his parents Jim and Evelyn.

John will be sadly missed by his loving family Declan, Catherine, Cllr. Joe, Nancy and Monica, his sisters-in-law Marian and Kara, brothers-in-law Gerry and Richard, nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, cousins, neighbours and wide circle of friends, especially his lifelong friend Joe Coffey.

Reposing at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Thomas Street on Friday, March 6 from 4.30pm to 6pm. Funeral arriving at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Ennis Road on Saturday, March 7 for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by burial in Mount St Oliver Cemetery.

Beloved husband of Lilian. Dearly loved father of Bobby and Gillian. Sadly missed by his daughter-in-law Laura, son-in-law Brian (O’Connor), his cherished grandchildren Jack, Ethan, Chloe, Leo, Adam and Darragh, sister Elizabeth (Portley) and her husband Michael, niece, extended family and friends.

Predeceased by her husband Kevin, sisters Annette and Ruth, brother Pat.

Deeply missed by her loving family, daughters Sinead and Sonya, sons-in-law Paul and Cormac, grandchildren Kevin and Emily, brother Brian, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and her many friends.

Mary will repose in McMahon's Funeral Home, Blackwater on Thursday, March 5 from 6pm to 7:30pm followed by removal to St Patrick's Church, Parteen. Funeral Mass Friday, March 6 at 2pm followed by cremation in Shannon Crematorium at 4pm.
