The death has occurred of Edmond (Eddie) MacSweeney of Duxtown, Rathkeale, Limerick and formerly of 14 Ashbourne Park, SCR, Limerick.

Eddie passed away, suddenly, on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

Predeceased by his parents Martin and Nora and niece Alex.

Deeply regretted by his sister Catherine, sons David and Peter, his brother-in-law Teddy, nieces Martine, Michaela and Georgia, cousins, relatives and large circle of friends.

Eddie will be reposing in Pallaskenry Church on Monday, February 2 from 5.30pm to 7.00pm.

Requiem Mass on Tuesday morning, February 3 at 11.30am in Rathkeale Church, followed by burial immediately afterwards in Mount Saint Oliver Cemetery.

The death has occurred of James McCormack of Holycross, Bruff, Limerick and formerly of Gotoon, Hospital, Limerick.

James passed away, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, in the wonderful care of Ward 9C in the University Hospital, Limerick on Wednesday, January 28.

Sadly missed by his sons Jimmy, Ken and Mark, daughter Sinead and their mother Mary, sisters Mary, Siobhan and Anne, nieces and nephews, daughters-in-law Zianne and Joanne, son-in-law Jamie, beloved grandchildren Feidhlim, Jamie, Jasmine, Amy, Jack, Jamie, Jonson and Cian, kind neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Daverns Funeral Home, Hospital this Sunday, February 1 from 5.30pm to 7pm. Funeral Cortege arriving at St John the Baptist Church, Hospital for Requiem Mass on Monday, February 2  at 11.30am followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Donations in lieu of flowers to the Irish Kidney Association.

The death has occurred of John Walsh of Leeson Park Nursing Home and formerly of Meadow Grove, Dundrum, Taney Avenue, Goatstown and Bruff, Limerick.

Passed away on Tuesday, January 27.

Devoted and cherished husband of the late Úna. Also predeceased by his brother Patsy.

Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his son Declan, daughter Fiona, grand-daughter Róisín, daughter-in-law Barbara, son-in-law Kieran, sisters Mary and Betty, brothers Mick, Christy and Kevin. Also fondly remembered and sadly missed by extended family and wide circle of friends.

Reposing at Fanagans Funeral Home, Dundrum on Sunday afternoon, February 1 from 3pm to 5pm.

Complimentary car parking is available at the old Dundrum Shopping Centre (Lidl) car park - entrance on Dundrum Village Main Street (not Dundrum Town Centre Car Park). Tickets to exit car park, free of charge, available on request at Fanagans Funeral Home, Dundrum.

Removal on Monday morning, February 2 to Holy Cross Church, Dundrum for a Funeral Mass at 10.30am followed by cremation in the Victorian Chapel, Mount Jerome Crematorium Harold’s Cross at 1pm.

The death has occurred of Katie Higgins of Shannon, Clare, Caherdavin, Limerick and Doncaster, UK.

Katie, aged 35 years, passed away, peacefully, at St John's Hospice, Doncaster, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, January 28.

Deeply regretted by her loving little boy Hugo, mother Lorraine, father Tony, twin brother John, step father John and step mother Anita, niece Caoimhe, ​​​​​sister-in-law Bernice, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, step siblings, relatives and friends.

Wednesday, February 18 at 2pm, at Rose Hill Crematorium, Cantley Lane, Doncaster, DN4 6NE.

The death has occurred of Angela O'Neill née Hickey of Stenson Park, Farranshone, Limerick and Cork.

Passed away, peacefully, at Cork University Hospital, in the presence of her loving family, having been wonderfully cared for by the staff of Darraglynn Nursing Home, on Wednesday, January 29.

Beloved wife of the late Thomas.

Sadly missed by her loving sons John, Matt and Finbar, sister Pearl, adored grandchildren Dan, Sam, Katie, Chloe, Aisling, Tara, Ella, Ben and Tom and great-grandson Rian, daughters-in-law Sue, Sheila and Lorraine, extended family and friends.

Reposing at Griffin’s Funeral Home, John’s Gate on Sunday, February 1 from 4pm to 5pm, followed by Removal to St Munchin’s Church, Clancy Strand. Requiem Mass will take place on Monday, February 2 at 10am. Burial afterwards in Mt Saint Oliver Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Colin (aka Giz) O'Shaughnessy of Rhebogue Meadows and late of Old Park Road, Corbally, Limerick.

Passed away, unexpectedly, but peacefully, following an ongoing illness, at home, on Wednesday, January 28.

Sadly missed by her heartbroken family, parents Tommy and Sheila, sister Jennifer, brother-in-law Tom, nephew Rían, niece Bronagh, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.

Colin’s family would sincerely like to thank his many close friends for being such a big part of his life.

A private cremation service will take place on Monday, February 2, at Shannon Crematorium, for invited family and friends.

No flowers please, in lieu please share a random act of kindness in Colin’s memory.

The death has occurred of Nancy Connery of Fairyfield, Kilmallock, Limerick.

Nancy passed away, very peacefully, in her 92nd year in the tender and loving care of all at Maria Goretti Nursing Home, Kilmallock on Thursday, January 29.

Predeceased by her parents Johanna and Patrick, brothers Paddy, Michael, Con and Jimmy, sisters Peg, Kathleen and Bridget. Very deeply regretted and sadly missed by her brothers Ned, Denis, Billy, Johnny and Tony, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, kind neighbours and her many friends.

Reposing this Saturday evening, January 31, from 6.30pm at Daffy's Funeral Home, Kilmallock, concluding with evening prayers at 8pm. Removal to arrive Sunday, February 1 for 1.30pm Requiem Mass at Ss. Peter & Paul's Church, Kilmallock, followed by burial afterwards to the local cemetery.

Nancy's family will be forever grateful for the care she received during her stay at Maria Goretti Nursing Home and they would like to thank all the staff from the bottom of their hearts especially Anna, Niamh, Catherine and most sincerely Mike Hogan for his kindness and friendship to Nancy.

Essie passed away, suddenly at her residence, on Wednesday, January 28.

The death has occurred of Very Rev. Canon Tom Ryan of Murroe Boher Parish, Limerick and formerly of Shanbally, Rearcross, Tipperary.

Fr Tom passed away, peacefully, in the care of the staff at Nenagh Hospital, on Thursday, January 29.

Predeceased by his brothers Br. Owen, PJ, Martin, Joe and Fr John.

Deeply regretted by his loving family, sister Mary Quigley (Moneygall), brother-in-law Martin, sister-in-law Margaret, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, Archbishop Kieran O’Reilly, priests and religious in Cashel and Emly diocese, staff and residents of St Anthony’s Nursing Home, cousins, relatives, parishioners and a large circle of friends.

Fr Tom will be reposing in the Church of the Holy Rosary, Murroe, Limerick on Saturday, January 31 from 3pm until 7pm. Requiem Mass on Sunday, February 1 at 2pm, which will be streamed, burial afterwards in Abington Cemetery.

Fr Tom’s family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at St Anthony’s Pallasgreen for their exceptional care and support.
