Deaths in Limerick: Monday, October 14, 2024

It is with deep sadness we announce the death of Mary Murphy (nee O'Brien)Ruanard, Clonlara, Co Clare and late of Keane st , Garryowen and formally of Tulla Electronics

On December 15th 2025, peacefully, in University Hospital Limerick, surrounded by her loving family.

Pre deceased by her parents Margaret and Michael, sister Ita, brothers Brendan and John.

Sadly missed by her loving husband Patrick (Pat), daughter Laura, son Kyle, grandson Kaleb, son-in-law James, daughter-in-law Kate, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Reposing at Cross’s Funeral Home, Gerald Griffin Street, Thursday, December 18th, from 5pm to 7pm

Funeral will arrive Friday, December 19th, at St. John's Cathedral, Cathedral Place, for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by Service at Shannon Crematorium at 1pm.

Family Flowers only, Donations to St. Munchin's Community Centre.

Mary's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the Doctors, Nurses and staff of 8D and CF in University Hospital Limerick, Milford Care Centre, Westbury Health Centre ,and special thanks to Rachel who was Mary's home care assistance, for their exceptional care and support.

The death has occurred of Tom Mulqueen, Parteen, Co. Clare and formerly of Rossa Avenue.

December 14th 2025 peacefully at Milford Care Centre.

Beloved husband of Anne. Sadly missed by his brother John, sister Deirdre, brother-in-law Tom, sisters-in-law Mary and Frances, nephew Richard, nieces Emily, Rebecca, Lydia and Faye, extended family and friends.

May he rest in peace.

Reposing at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Thomas Street on Wednesday (17th December) from 5pm to 6.30pm. Cremation service will take in Shannon Crematorium on Thursday (18th December) at 3pm.

No flowers please, donations if desired to Milford Care Centre.

The death has occurred of Howard Gibson-Steel, Ballyhone, Emly, Co. Tipperary and formerly of 3 Catherine Place, Limerick.

December 12th 2025 peacefully and unexpectedly in the comfort of his home.

Predeceased by mother Helena, father Harry, sister Aileen and the Gannon family. Sadly missed by his soulmate Maureen, best friend Travis, sister Anna, brother-in-law Peter, nephews Luke and Harry, niece and goddaughter Jane, grandniece and grandnephew, Maureen’s family and mom Teresa Sheehan, Howard's many lifelong friends.

May he rest in peace.

Reposing at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Thomas Street on Monday 15th December from 6 – 7.30pm. Celebration of Howard’s life on Tuesday 16th December at 2pm in Kilmurry Church Art’s and Community Centre, Castletroy, followed by burial in adjoining cemetery.

The death has occurred of Michael Cummins, Newline, Dundrum, Co. Tipperary and formerly of Doon, Co. Limerick. December 14th 2025, peacefully at home.

Predeceased by his parents, Mikey and Teresa, brother Christy, and mother in law Nancy. 

Sadly missed by his heartbroken wife Marie, daughter Karen, grandchildren Jack and Paídí, son in law Michael, father in law Joe, brother, sisters, brothers in law, sisters in law, extended family, neighbours, and a large circle of friends, especially Tadhg and Kate.

Reposing at Whites Funeral Home, Cappawhite (E34 WR83), this Tuesday 16th December from 5pm to 7pm. Arriving at the Church of the Assumption, Knockavilla on Wednesday for Requiem Mass at 11:30am followed by burial in St Senan’s Cemetery, Knockavilla.

House Strictly Private please.
