THE Munster Rugby community is in mourning following the death of Michelle Payne, a much-loved former staff member and wife of ex-player and team manager Shaun Payne, who has died after a two-year battle with breast cancer.
Munster Rugby said they were "deeply saddened" to learn of Michelle's passing and that their immediate thoughts are with Shaun, their children Dylan and Amy and the wider Payne family.

RTÉ Radio rugby commentator, Michael Corcoran added that he was "heartbroken" to hear of Michelle's passing and that he always enjoyed Shaun and Michelle's company in Limerick and Cape Town. "Thinking of their children Dylan and Amy and the wider Payne family at this time.
The South African couple lived in Ballina during their time here. Shaun was capped 109 times for the province, making his debut in 2003 and spent four years as team manager with Munster, finishing up in the role in 2012.
