Deaths in Limerick: Tuesday, April 22

The death has occurred of Joan Bouchier-Hayes (née Latchford) "Stella Mariae", Gortboy, Newcastle West, Limerick

Joan died on April 22, peacefully at home surrounded by her beloved children.

Predeceased by her cherished husband Patrick. Deeply regretted by her son Frank, daughter Agnes, relatives and wonderful friends.

Requiescat in pace

Joan will repose at the family home on Wednesday evening (April 23) from 5pm until 8pm.

Removal on Thursday morning (April 24) to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Newcastle West, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11.30am followed by burial in Churchtown Cemetery.


The death has occurred of William Bourke of Lilac Court, Keyes Park, Limerick & late of United Kingdom

On April 20, peacefully, at University Hospital Limerick, surrounded by his loving family.

Pre-deceased by parents Mary and Richard.

Sadly missed by partner Sheila, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Reposing at Cross's Funeral Home, Gerald Griffin Street, Thursday, April 24, from 1pm to 2pm, followed by Humanist Service at 3pm in Shannon Crematorium.


The death has occurred of James Butler of Mongfune, Murroe and formerly of Shanbally, Castletroy, Co. Limerick.

Former Sacristan, Monaleen Parish. Peacefully, in the presence of his family, at University Hospital Limerick, on April 20.

Pre-deceased by his parents Patrick and Theresa.

James will be deeply missed by his loving sister Mary and brothers Tom and John, by his brother-in-law Peter (Tinnelly), sisters-in-law Josephine and Christina, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Griffin’s Funeral Home, John’s Gate, on Wednesday, April 23 from 5pm to 6pm.

Funeral arriving at Mary Magdalene Church, Monaleen, on Thursday, April 24 for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Old Kilmurry Cemetery, Castletroy.


The death has occurred of Kathleen (Kay) Gardiner, née Dennehy, of Garbally, Bruff, Co. Limerick

Passed away peacefully on April 21 surrounded by her loving family in the exceptional care of all in Milford Care Centre.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Ernest (Ernie), baby son Roland, parents Corelius and Sheila, sisters Breda (King), Sr. Mary, baby Norah and Nora, brother Bertie and niece Grace.

Kay will be very sadly missed by her loving family, daughters Edel (O' Hara), Karen (Walsh) and Lilian, son David, sons-in-law Mick and Colm, adored grandchildren Kate, Lily and Faye, sisters Bernadette (Hogan) and Veronica (O' Sullivan), brothers Jerry and Arthur, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours.

May She Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Butler's Funeral Home, Bruff this Wednesday evening, April 23, from 5:30pm to 7pm.

Arriving to Ss. Peter and Paul's Church, Bruff on Thursday morning, April 24, for Requiem Mass at 11:30am followed by burial in The Church of Ireland Cemetery, Bruff.


The death has occurred of Ann Goold (née Walsh) of Cooline, Ballyhea, Cork / Knocklong, Limerick

After a long illness, in the wonderful care of St. Martha's Nursing Home.

Predeceased by her loving siblings Maureen (Senior), Peg (Walsh), Mike, Donal, Albert, Tom, John & Ealish (Foley). Dearly beloved wife of John, devoted mother of Jana, Aida, Denis & Hilda.

Loving grandmother of Jack, Christopher, Hannah, Harvey, Fionn & Olan. Deeply missed by her brother Pat, daughter-in-law Elaine (Barry), son-in-law Michael (Bopp), nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, relatives & a wide circle of many wonderful friends.

Reposing at O'Malley Funeral Homes, New Line, Charleville on Wednesday from 5.30pm until 7.30pm.

Prayers at 7pm. Arriving for Requiem Mass in St Mary's Church, Ballyhea on Thursday at 12 noon. Funeral after to Shandrum Cemetery.


The death has occurred of Anne Moynihan (nee O’Dea) of Towerfield Crescent, Croom, Co Limerick.

Anne passed peacefully on April 21, in the wonderful care of all at University Hospital Limerick, surrounded by her loving family.

Beloved wife of the late Jimmy and dear mum to the late Ann-Marie.

Sadly missed by her loving daughter Dawn, son-in-law, adored grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives, kind neighbours and many friends.

May Her gentle Soul Rest In Peace.

Reposing at St. Mary’s Church Croom on Wednesday April 23, from 6pm with evening prayers at 7pm.

Funeral Mass on Thursday April 24 at 12 noon, after which Anne will be laid to rest in Reilig Mhuire, Croom.


The death has occurred of Roger O'Sullivan, East Mall, Glin, Co. Limerick

On April 19, unexpectedly at University Hospital, Kerry peacefully surrounded by his family.

Predeceased by his wife Kathleen, son Sean, brothers Pat, Art and more recently Donie; also sisters Birdie and Anne. May they rest in peace.

Roger will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his daughters Antoinette, Regina, Noelle and son Donal; sister Mary, sons-in-law Maurice and Darren, grandchildren Sean, Catherine and Paudie, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, kind neighbours, relatives and many friends.

May the flights of angels lead him on his way

Reposing at Healy's Funeral Home, Glin on Thursday, April 24 from 5pm until 7pm.

Requiem Mass will take place on Friday, April 25, in The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Glin at 12 noon followed by burial in Kilfergus Cemetery, Glin.


The death has occurred of Thomas Ryan (Magoo), Ballinard, Herbertstown, Co. Limerick

On April 22, peacefully, at Milford Care Centre. Deeply regretted by his sisters, Betty, Margaret, Mary and Bridie, his brother D.J., sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.

May he Rest in Peace

Reposing at O'Leary's Funeral Home, Hospital, on Wednesday evening from 6pm to 8pm.

Thomas's requiem Mass will take place on Thursday in the Sacred Heart Church, Herbertstown at 11.30am.

Burial afterwards in Hospital Cemetery.
