The late Marguerita Sheridan
A CANDLELIGHT vigil is to take place on Christmas Eve in Rathkeale to honour the life of the late Marguerita Sheridan and to "provide a space for community healing" following her tragic death.
The young mother, 21, lost her fight for life on Saturday afternoon following a hit-and-run incident in her hometown just after midday.
The community in Rathkeale will "unite in grief" this Tuesday, Christmas Eve, at 4pm at the crib at the Abbey Grounds, Rathkeale to remember "a cherished soul taken too soon".
Locals are encouraged to bring a candle.
Ms Sheridan sustained serious injuries in an incident involving a silver Ford Transit van at approximately 12:15pm on Saturday.
She was rushed to University Hospital Limerick but was pronounced dead later that evening.

The popular young woman had only given birth to her baby boy three weeks ago.
Countless tributes have been paid to Ms Sheridan who is described as having "a heart of gold". She is said to have adored horses.
"No words can describe the heartbreak, what a beautiful young girl. Taken too soon. Forever 21. Rest easy in a bed of roses," read one tribute online.
A post-mortem has been conducted.
Funeral arrangements are yet to be announced.
