Deaths in Limerick: Wednesday, March 20, 2024

The death has occurred of Catherine (Cathy) McCabe (née Galvin) of Caherdavin, Limerick / Ballybunion, Kerry.

March 19th 2024 peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at University Hospital Limerick.

Predeceased by her parents Ellen and Jack, brothers Dan, Jim and Bill, sister Margaret and grandson John Michael.

Sadly missed by her loving husband Mike, daughter Sandra and son John, son-in-law Aidan, daughter-in-law Ruth, her cherished grandchildren Chloe, Sophie and Katie, sisters Nora and Mary, brothers Stevie and John, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

May she rest in peace.

Reposing at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Thomas Street this Thursday (21st March) from 7pm to 8pm. Arriving at Christ the King Church, Caherdavin, on Friday (22nd March) for Requiem Mass at 11.30am, followed by burial in Ballycannon Cemetery, Meelick.

The death has occurred of Mary Ensor of Mountain View, Kilfinane, Limerick.

The death has occurred of Mary Ensor, St. Gobnait's Nursing Home, Ballyagran & formerly of Mountain View, Kilfinane, Co. Limerick. Mary passed away peacefully in University Hospital Limerick with the family by her side on 19th March 2024. She was cared for over the past number of years by the loving staff of the St. Gobnait's family. Predeceased by her son John. Sadly missed by daughter Christina, son-in-law James, grandchildren Callan, Erin and Sean, son James, partner Louise, grandchildren Lee and Bella & daughter Tess, grandchildren Rebecca, Hayden and Libby, relatives and friends.

Private reposal at McCarthy's Funeral Home, Kilfinane, Co. Limerick on Thursday, 21st March, and requiem mass at St. Andrew's Church, Kilfinane, on Friday, 22nd March, at 11am with burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

May she rest in peace.


The death has occurred of Myra Butler (née Cantillon) of Lynwood Park, Ballysimon, Limerick.

Myra passed away peacefully, at Nenagh General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, on 19th March 2024.

Beloved wife of the late Joe (Josie).

Sadly missed by her adoring children, Karen, Joseph and Michelle, her 7 grandchildren, great-grandson, sons-in-law, sister Joan, nieces, nephews, relatives kind neighbours and her many friends.

Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Griffin’s Funeral Home, John’s Gate on Friday, 22nd March, from 4.30pm to 6.00pm. Funeral arriving at St. John’s Cathedral, on Saturday, 23rd March, for Requiem Mass at 10.30am. Mass will be streamed live only here. Burial afterwards in Mount St. Oliver Cemetery.

Family flowers only please, donations, if desired, to Milford Care Centre.
