Located! Vehicle of interest in hit-and-run which killed Limerick student is found

Gardaí are continuing to appeal for witnesses to come forward
GARDAI have located the vehicle believed to be involved in a fatal hit-and-run collision, Limerick Live has learned.
Bryan Lowe, a 16-year-old student in St Munchin’s College, died in the road traffic incident in Clonlara at around 11pm on Friday. He was found unresponsive by the roadside on the L3050 at Cottage Cross and pronounced deceased at the scene.
The teenager (pictured below) was riding an e-bike at the time.

A second vehicle failed to remain at the scene.
On Sunday, gardai issued an appeal for information about a silver / gold colour Skoda Octavia.
One line of enquiry being followed by gardai is that the teenager was being chased by the occupants of a vehicle who wanted to steal his e-bike.
It is understood that the Skoda Octavia was burnt out in a housing estate in Castleconnell on Saturday morning. Limerick Fire and Rescue Service responded to the scene and put out the blaze.
However, it is thought that the car was only partially damaged in the fire and it was seized by gardai for forensic analysis.
Gardaí are continuing to appeal for witnesses to come forward.
Investigating officers are interested in speaking to the driver or occupants of a silver/gold colour Skoda Octavia, registration number 05-C-5982, driving in the vicinity of Clonlara/Castelconnell between the hours of 6pm on Friday, September 4 and 11am on Saturday, September 5
Road users who were in the Clonlara/Castleconnell area at the time and may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are also asked to make it available to investigating gardaí.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Henry Street garda station on (061) 212400, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
Investigations are ongoing.
