BREAKING: Two more men, aged in their 20s, arrested over serious assault in Limerick

GARDAI have arrested two men this Thursday afternoon in connection with a serious assault on Athlunkard Street on St Patrick’s Day in Limerick city.

A garda spokesperson said: “Both males, aged in their 20s, are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a garda station in the Limerick Division.”

This brings the total number of arrests in connection with this garda investigation to three.

Another man, aged in his 20s, was arrested on the night of March 17 and subsequently charged to appear before Limerick District Court this Thursday 

“The man, aged in his 50s, who was injured during the incident remains in a serious condition in University Hospital Limerick,” said the garda spokesperson who added that “investigations are ongoing”.
