Arson attack on house as children walk home from school in Limerick

The house targeted by arsonists on Mulgrave Street on Friday

A HOUSE in the city was targeted by arsonists on Friday afternoon, Limerick Live has learned.

It occurred at a property on the busy thoroughfare of Mulgrave Street around 3pm when children were walking home from school.

It is believed a petrol bomb was thrown inside the property.

Three Limerick Fire and Rescue Service appliances responded to the scene in a matter of minutes from their nearby Mulgrave Street base.

The blaze was quickly extinguished by firefighters. The front window has since been boarded up.

The background to the incident is not known.
