LIMERICK gardai are urging the public to be on the lookout for “tools for sale under suspicious circumstances.”
“On Tuesday, July 1, two tradespersons parked their vans in a car park in the Raheen area overnight. When they returned the next morning, they found the rear doors had been forced open and valuable power tools stolen,” outlined Sergeant Michelle O’Halloran, Crime Prevention Officer at Henry Street garda station.
“If anyone has been offered tools for sale under suspicious circumstances, we’re asking them to contact Roxboro Garda Station on 061 214340 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111,” she said.

“If the price seems too good to be true, this should immediately set alarm bells off. Always buy from legitimate sources. If someone’s trying to sell you tools or equipment in a way that seems off - trust your gut and report it,” stressed Sgt O’Halloran.
“If anything does not sit right with you – if something feels off or raises your suspicions – do not hesitate to contact your local Gardai. Even if it turns out to be nothing, we’d rather you report it to us and we will carry out the enquiries. We’re here to help,” she said.
