A “VERY serious crime” involving a stolen firearm from a premises in Limerick is being investigated by gardaí.
Between Wednesday, June 4 and Thursday, June 5, a firearm was stolen from a premises in the Kilmallock area.
“This is very serious as the firearm could potentially be used in criminal activity,” said Sergeant Michelle O’Halloran, crime prevention officer, at Henry Street garda station.
“I want to remind all firearms holders that if you are licensed to own one firearm, you must use a trigger lock, disassemble the firearm and securely store the parts separately.”

Those who are licensed to hold three or more firearms are further reminded that they must store them in a locked gun safe that is bolted to a solid wall.
