BURGLARS who stole a homeowner's car in Limerick and later abandoned it are being investigated by gardaí.
Homeowners in Adare were in for a rude awakening when they woke to find their house had been broken into and their car burgled on the night of Monday, February 3.
“Burglars forced entry into a residence in Limetree Avenue, Adare, by breaking and ‘snapping’ the barrel of the lock on the front door,” said Sergeant Michelle O’Halloran, crime prevention officer at Henry St garda station.

“The homeowners woke the following morning to find their home had been broken into, where they noted their keys and vehicle had been taken during the course of the break-in.”
The vehicle was a 201 D blue BMW 7 series and was later recovered in Charleville area.
An investigation is currently being led at Newcastle West garda station, who are appealing to witnesses in Adare or Charleville to contact them on 069 20650 or the garda confidential line at 1800 666 111.
